A BURNING AND SHINING LIGHT

The darkness was consuming, and gross darkness covered the earth. The people were suffering; in chains and shambles, in dire need of help; a Savior, someone to vindicate them from the bondage they had submitted themselves to and had now become captives. And I heard the Lord say, “Whom shall we send; whom shall we send to save the people? Who would represent me and bring my people from darkness?” And I cried, “Lord, send me!” Not fully grasping what that meant or the modalities behind the call, but with a passion for the lost that drove me. And He said to me, “You have to be a Light; tasted darkness but saved from it. You have to be on fire, not burnt by the fire, but all impurities removed. You have to shine, not like glittering gold or diamond, but something brighter. Not the Light that shines in your room from a man-made bulb, and not the lantern that got grandma through her days on earth, but something bright; bright enough to cover the earth, bright enough to draw the attention of men! You have to choose to be different; separate yourself unto righteousness. Purify yourself and stick to your consecrations. Live a holy life, for the one who sends you is Holy.

A beacon of Light that the world would see, an answer to the cry of many who seek to stay in God; to look like Him, to behold His face; to become like Him, to proclaim salvation; to free the captives. A shining light; a ray of hope. A call to shine; to show the way. A call to burn; to ignite the flames. Ruach’s burning and shining light is who I became!” Ebehi Divine Akhigbe
