ACADEMICS: A MEANS TO AN END

Sit back and imagine the journey of your life as a long road, with a beginning and an ending. The beginning being when you were conceived and the ending, when you die. Along the way, there are different stops, different institutions and one of them happens to be school, where you’re probably at right now. For a lot of us, school is our world! It’s all we know and and have known but the truth is one day, we will leave this institution of learning. Now the knowledge of this is freeing to most, scary for some but inevitable for all. Unfortunately, we’re not really thought how to “school well”. What’s supposed to be our mindset about this incredibly long and tasking part of our lives? What role does it play in our journeys overall? How do we get the most of the journey? Here’s what I think. Schooling is a means to an end, the end being our purpose in Jesus. Whatever we are learning and our attitudes towards whatever we’re learning can only be laser focus attacked when we understand the role this season plays as a part of a whole. Jesus empowers you to have super understanding and have good grades not just for the boasting right it gives but because every advantage in Christ is a part of the fuel to keep your purpose in him burning and alive. So next time you’re thinking of settling for less or not giving it your all, remember, this is not just (insert name), the student. This is (insert name) Jesus’s child and ambassador.
