NEWS IN FULL

CMDA - OOUTH, Sagamu Chapter, live on two radio broadcast stations

1. Within the last one week, the CMDA – OOUTH, Sagamu Chapter, has been hosted to speak on two radio broadcast stations, as a means of sensitizing the masses, thereby giving hope and demystifying COVID-19 to them.
These broadcast stations were both for call-in programs.

The first one was on Splash FM 106.7, Abeokuta last Thursday in Yoruba language and the second held yesterday on Sweet FM 107.1, Abeokuta in English language. They were grateful to God for the success of both outings and they also considered it a great opportunity to render services to humanity.

2. Yesterday at the Eagle’s Square, Three Arms Zone Abuja; CMDA FCT chapter reached out to over 120 non-medical responders with facemasks & hand sanitizers.

These officers of the law have been enforcing the FG directives in FCT and environs since the Lock-down period & up till now. They include officers of the FRSC, VIO, Civil Defence-NSCDC, Nigerian Police Force, AMAC Marshals, Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEBP) Officers amongst others.

They had earlier raised a dire need for PPEs like facemasks and sanitizers during some of our engagements/trainings with them in the past & CMDA FCT has been responding since then by the grace of GOD.

CMDA FCT Brethren were also a core part of the facilitators in a “round table discussion” with some senior officers who expressed various concerns. During the session, the CMDA HOPE line was shared with them.

3. CMDA LUTH was live today on TVC Entertainment to publicise the CMDA Nigeria #GiveHope campaign. The session was anchored by Dr Haningh Ngalato.

4. CMDA Nigeria celebrates with our member of the Board of Trustees (BOT), Professor Philip Olatunji as he turns 70 years of age and successfully retires from Public Service.

It is worthy of note that Professor Philip Olatunji was one of those who attended a 4-day Conference of the International Conference of Christian Medical Students (ICCMS ‘80) at Oxford, Britain from July 28th – August 1st, 1980 and soon after, the Annual National Conference of the Nigerian Fellowship of Evangelical Students (NIFES) at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He is one of those described as ”the true founding fathers” of our students arm.

He has been described as an embodiment of humility, integrity, steadfastness, and unwavering commitment to the Lord no matter the odds.
He is currently the National President of the College of Nigerian Pathologists (formerly Association of Pathologist of Nigeria).
CMDA Nigeria wishes Prof. Phillip Olatunji a peaceful, prosperous retirement life and a happy 70th birthday celebration while trusting God to continue to strengthen and keep him in good health for many more years to come in Jesus name. Amen.

We continue in the fight against COVID-19 and we are reminded that the little we give can go a long way to save a life.
