For the gospel to be spread abroad finances have to be involved. For us as medical missionaries and medics it’s important we know the importance of kingdom financing to promote God’s kingdom and to gain wealth and take over every sphere of life including the health sector. This is the reason why the kingdom of light (God’s kingdom) and the kingdom of darkness need money to gain power. So, the kingdom of darkness protects finances to stop believers from gaining control of power, this is also seen in the political health sector. In kingdom financing, there is a need to become faithful stewards in our finances. It’s about honoring God with our resources and living a life of integrity, generosity, and faithfulness. This one factor that can guarantee speed in our lives and eliminate lack in the lives of believers. Tithing, offering, first fruits, freewill offerings for the work of the kingdom, these are all part of kingdom financing. Giving to God does not do him any favors instead we are beneficiaries of this principle. The scriptures tell us that no man receives a thing except it is given to him from above John 3:27. Firstly we should know that everything we have was given to us from God and nothing is really ours. In kingdom financing, there are attitudes that have to be kept, to get the heart of God. In 2 Corinthians 8:1-5 we can see the church in Macedonia, sacrificial giving and also returning vows made to God. Most times as believers and Christian medics, we wait for the perfect me and moment to have enough to give but the scriptures tell us that the church in Macedonia were very poor, yet they were rich in generosity. They gave not only what they could afford but far more. Apostle Paul urges us to “be gracious in the act of giving” (2 Corinthians 8:7). The benefits of giving are seen in 2 Corinthians 9:8-13. There are practical steps in being faithful stewards in kingdom financing: Create a budget, prioritize needs over wants, avoid debt, invest wisely, cultivate a spirit of gratitude and contentment, Seek guidance from financial advisors and mentors. Kingdom financing starts from the heart and with the right heart it will let us be good and faithful financial stewards. God wants us to reign on earth so he needs us and every one of our resources to do this.
