The National Student Conference 2026 “BURNING ALTARS” ended in glory, and we can boldly say—lives were set on fire for God!
For four days, heaven came down at Balm of Gilead City. From the opening charge to the grand finale, God’s presence was tangible. Hearts were revived, altars were rekindled, and students left charged, healed, delivered, and ready to burn for Jesus.
The theme, “BURNING ALTARS”, came alive through powerful sessions of worship, the Word, academic insights, and deep encounters. The atmosphere was one of expectation, faith, and fresh fire.
We thank God for every minister, guest speaker, volunteer, and participant who came expectant and ready to burn. Thank you to everyone who contributed in one way or another to making this conference a success. God met us at every point.

This edition featured an enlightening session on: “Preventing Childhood Poisoning: Creating Safer Homes, Protecting Young Lives”
The webinar was facilitated by Prof. Moses T. Abiodun, who delivered a comprehensive presentation on “Preventing Childhood Poisoning: Creating Safer Homes, Protecting Young Lives.” He highlighted the common causes of childhood poisoning, including accidental exposure to medications, household chemicals, pesticides, and unsafe storage practices. He also shared practical strategies for creating safer home environments, raising awareness among caregivers, and implementing preventive measures that can significantly reduce the risk of poisoning among children.

EASTERN ZONE
Meetings: Chapters across the Eastern Zone remained active through regular prayer meetings, monthly meetings, fellowship gatherings, and leadership engagements, fostering spiritual growth, unity, and encouragement among members.
Activities recorded during the month included Weekly Prayer Meetings in Rivers and Enugu, Monthly Meetings in Rivers, Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu and Cross River. In Ebonyi, students participated in a Logo Exploration session during their Joint Monthly Meeting, These gatherings provided opportunities for members to pray together, strengthen fellowship, and advance the vision of CMDA within their respective chapters.
Mission: Mission outreaches continued to be a key expression of service across the Eastern Zone.
Rivers: Hospital evangelism was conducted at the Female Medical Ward of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) and the Female Surgical Ward of Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH), where patients were reached with the Gospel and encouraged through Christian ministry.
Akwa Ibom: Members carried out hospital evangelism through the UUTH Hospital Chapel and Surgical Chapel, ministering to patients and healthcare workers.
Cross River: Members engaged in prayer-focused outreach activities and thanksgiving meetings following DNC 2026.
Abia: Medical outreaches were conducted within Umuahia, including an outreach at Dunamis, providing opportunities to combine healthcare service with Christian witness.
Enugu: Members organized an Evangelism and Medical Outreach during the Annual First Fruit Thanksgiving Service at Ikem LGA, extending healthcare services and the Gospel message to members of the community.
WESTERN ZONE
Meetings: Chapters across the Western Zone remained actively engaged through regular prayer meetings, monthly fellowships, leadership interactions, and spiritual development programmes.
Themes and activities included Weekly Prayer Meetings in Ile-Ife, UBTH, OOUTH, Owo, and LUTH, as well as Monthly Meetings and Fellowships in UNIMEDTH, LUTH, LASUTH, Ido-Ekiti, FMCA Abeokuta, LAUTECH Ogbomoso, Ebute Metta, Osogbo, Asaba, OOUTH, Oyo. Members with students in Kwara participated in a Joint Conference at UITH. Themes discussed during these meetings included Living a Life of Impact as a Christian Doctor (Ile-Ife), Healing Hands and Echoes from DNC 2026 (LUTH), The Shining Light (UBTH), Excellence for Impact (FMCA Abeokuta), Macedonian Call (Asaba), and A Voice for the Lord in the Medical World (Oyo). These meetings provided opportunities for members to deepen their faith, strengthen fellowship, and encourage one another in Christian service.
Missions: The Western Zone recorded impactful missions and outreach activities, with members engaging in evangelism and community-based healthcare outreaches to demonstrate the love of Christ.
Lagos: Members of LUTH conducted the Wholeness Medical Mission outreach and carried out hospital evangelism within the LUTH wards.
Abeokuta: FMCA organized a medical outreach at Panseke Market, providing healthcare services and health education to members of the public.
LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, conducted hospital evangelism within the hospital wards.
Ido-Ekiti: carried out ward evangelism in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Members in Owo conducted a medical outreach at Owo High School, and OOUTH, Sagamu, participated in medical outreach activities in collaboration with FMC Abeokuta. These outreaches demonstrated CMDA’s commitment to holistic healthcare ministry and community impact.
NORTHERN ZONE
Meetings: The Zone sustained active engagement across its chapters through regular prayer meetings, breakfast meetings, monthly fellowships, leadership engagements, and spiritual development activities, strengthening professional relationships and encouraging one another in service.
Themes and activities from these chapters included: Breakfast meetings in Plateau, Benue, Bida, and Gombe; weekly and online prayer meetings in Taraba, Nasarawa-Keffi, Bida, and UMTH; lunch prayer meetings in Kaduna (Zaria); family meetings in Borno; and monthly meetings held across FCT Municipal, Gwagwalada, Sokoto, Kano, Nasarawa-Lafia, Kogi, Adamawa, Niger (Bida), and Borno. Themes discussed during these meetings included Logo Exploration (Taraba), Effective Communication for Optimal Healthcare Delivery (Nasarawa-Keffi), Excellence for Impact: Excerpts from DNC 2026 (Lafia), Excellence for Impact (Bida), and General Meeting (Sokoto). Various sub-chapter meetings were also held within UMTH, Borno, providing opportunities for fellowship, leadership development, spiritual growth, and mutual encouragement among members.
Missions: Mission and outreach activities continued to advance the vision of CMDA across the Northern Zone.
Gwagwalada: carried out evangelism in the Male and Female Surgical Wards, ministering to patients through prayer, encouragement, and the Gospel.
Taraba: conducted a medical outreach at Kunini Primary Health Care Centre, Lau LGA, providing healthcare services and community engagement.
Nasarawa-Keffi: organized evangelistic activities through the FMC Keffi Conference Hall,
Bauchi: Students also participated in medical outreach initiatives. These outreaches provided opportunities to demonstrate Christ’s love through compassionate healthcare ministry and community service.
STUDENT ENGAGEMENTS
NORTHERN ZONE
We bless God for His faithfulness and sustaining grace throughout the month of August across the Northern Zone. The month was marked by the successful hosting and participation in the Burning Altar Conference 2026, a season of divine encounters, spiritual renewal, and transformation for members across the zone. Building on the theme, “The Outpouring: A Fruitful Life,” chapters remained actively engaged in fellowship, discipleship, leadership development, prayer, academic growth, and missions, strengthening members’ commitment to whole-person ministry and service.
Prayer: Prayer remained central to chapter life across the zone. Many chapters commenced the month with the nationwide Abba Father programme, including ATBUTH, ABUTH, BDTH, BHUTH, FUTHL, GSUTH, JUTH. Chapter Days of Prayer and Fasting were observed in ATBUTH, ABUTH, BHUTH, FUTHL, and GSUTH. Weekly prayer gatherings in UDUTH, UMTH, JUTH.
Meetings: Fellowship and leadership engagements also featured prominently through Bible studies, logo exploration sessions, executive meetings, breakfast meetings, general fellowships, class fellowships, conference reflections such as Echoes of National Conference and Gleanings from National Conference, as well as leadership talks and chapter executive nomination exercises.
Academic and Capacity Development: Academic and professional development remained active throughout the month. Notable activities included Bible study and logo exploration sessions in ATBUTH and FUTHL; a Medico-Legal Discussion and Choir and Drama Day in ABUTH; a preclinical case study, clinical meeting on strategic positioning, and leadership talks in AKTH; the commencement of the Excel Mentorship Scheme and Newsletter launch in BDTH; Academic and Editorial Day in BHUTH; Purpose Discovery and Godly Relationships discussions in GSUTH; a Business Ventures Seminar and Breakfast Meeting in JUTH; Editorial and Drama Day in UATH; Sunday presentations and joint preclinical meetings in UDUTH; and the fellowship-themed Bearing Fruits Through Academics programme, music concert, and Night of a Thousand Words in UMTH. Participation in the National Conference from 20th–23rd August further enriched members spiritually, academically, and professionally across the zone.
Missions and Outreach: Mission activities continued to advance the vision of CMDA across the Northern Zone.
- ATBUTH organized a week-long Missions Week focused on missions awareness, prayer, and commitment to the Great Commission.
- BDTH conducted hospital evangelism through its various classes.
- BSUTH, FUTHL, UATH, and UDUTH carried out hospital evangelism outreaches, ministering to patients and sharing the Gospel within healthcare settings.
- UDUTH observed a dedicated Missions Day, further emphasizing mission involvement and evangelistic responsibility among members.
We thank God for the remarkable testimonies, spiritual growth, and impactful engagements recorded across the Northern Zone during the month. As the fire ignited at the Burning Altar Conference 2026 continues to burn in our hearts, we pray for grace to remain steadfast, fruitful, and yielded to the Holy Spirit. May the Lord continually empower every chapter to advance the vision of caring for the whole person through Christ-centred witness, discipleship, and service.
GLOBAL NETWORK
UK/Europe In-Person Meeting 2026
The CMDA Nigeria-Global Network UK/Europe In-Person Meeting 2026 was held from Friday, 21st to Sunday, 23rd August 2026 at Redemption Camp, Farnham, United Kingdom. The gathering brought together members of the network for a refreshing time of fellowship, learning, prayer, and meaningful conversations.
Held under the theme, “Caring for the Whole Man Everywhere,” with the sub-theme, “The Nigerian Doctor in the UK Today: To Stay or Not to Stay,” the meeting provided an opportunity to reflect deeply on the experiences, responsibilities, and future of Nigerian doctors practising in the United Kingdom.
The meeting featured impactful ministrations by Prof. Chima Onoka and Dr. Abraham Awobem, whose sessions provoked thoughtful discussions and offered valuable perspectives on the realities facing Nigerian doctors in the UK. The conversations provided participants with opportunities to reflect on their professional journeys, sense of purpose, and the choices before them.
Beyond the formal sessions, the gathering created space for fellowship, connection, prayer, and encouragement. Participants were refreshed as they shared experiences, built relationships, and were reminded of the broader calling to care for the whole person—spirit, soul, and body—in accordance with 1st Thessalonians 5:23.
The meeting was a memorable time of spiritual renewal, honest reflection, and renewed commitment to Kingdom purpose. It also reinforced the importance of the CMDA Nigeria-Global Network as a platform for connection, support, and collective impact among Nigerian healthcare professionals in the diaspora.
Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making the 2026 In-Person Meeting a meaningful and successful gathering.

Text: Matt. 4.19
And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of Amen.
👉🏽 FISHERS OF MEN! This is one of the most interesting invitations from the lips of the MAN of Galilee!
It is a PROPOSITION pregnant with unlimited possibilities! If you follow me, I will not only make a MAN of you, I will make you a fisher of MEN! This is the evidence of our calling!
👉🏽 Our part is to follow Him and His part is to make MEN out of us who will in turn become FISHERS OF MEN! So we have the potential, not only to be MEN, but to raise MEN in the nations of the world! But first we must follow Him!
👉🏽 Who are you following? Him or others?
In the choices you make in life, whose leading are you following?
👉🏽 The making of a MAN in this Kingdom is a function of the quality of his followership of Jesus Christ. Many follow other men but following Jesus will make a MAN of you.
👉🏽 A MAN is one who has grown in his walk with God such that he has either been given charge of a territory or he has taken charge of a territory for God by virtue of his relationship with God!
👉🏽 In Lk 2:25, we see that Simeon was such a man in Jerusalem!
John.1.6 – There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
👉🏽 John was a MAN who related with God in such a way that people left the Cities and emptied into the wilderness to hear him. He had something his generation needed.
👉🏽 So you and I have something to offer our generation. From that WARD or clinic we can bless the WORLD!
Acts 9.11 – And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
Acts 9.12 – And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.
👉🏽 “And hath seen in a vision A MAN named Ananias coming in…”
I believe Ananias stood as A MAN for God to protect the believers in the city of Damascus hence the supernatural arrest of Saul who later became Paul!
👉🏽 In Ananias, we see A MAN who has become a fisher of MEN! Paul himself became a MAN, taking territories for God and writing most of the letters of the New Testament. Paul raised other MEN like Timothy and Titus!
👉🏽 Indeed every genuine followership of Jesus will have fruits to show.
👉🏽 There is a process in the raising of men! A child doesn’t suddenly become a man. Paul himself who became a MAN in Christ and subsequently became a Fisher of MEN understood this, practiced this and recorded his model for us to learn from:
2 Tim. 2.1 – Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2 Tim. 2.2 – And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
2 Tim. 2.3 – Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
2 Tim. 2.4 – No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
2 Tim. 2.5 – And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
2 Tim. 2.6 – The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.
2 Tim. 2.7 – Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.
👉🏽 This is a model that Paul used effectively for TRAINING and raising MEN!
👉🏽 It’s our season of “TRAINING FOR ENLARGEMENT”. The Lord give us understanding in Jesus name!
Prayer Points focus
- Let us thank God for His goodness and mercy to all nations especially Nigeria.
- Let us give God praise for CMDA Nigeria and all the ministries he has given us.
- Let us pray for IfEHL which commenced yesterday that God will raise MEN from all that have been trained in Jesus name.
- Let us pray for the forthcoming Lady Doctors Meeting that the hand of God will rest afresh upon all our Lady Doctors in Jesus name! That all indeed manifest the Deborah Anointing in Jesus name!
- Let us pray for the forthcoming students’ Missions and Prayer conferences that it will be life changing for all our students in Jesus name!
- Let us pray for the fourth coming Doctors National Conference that it will be an unusual time of encounter with the Lord in Jesus name!
- Praise God for answers to our prayers in Jesus name!
