A SCATTERED SOUL

For years, I dwelt in the turmoil of depression, My mind and soul whispered, seeking my ear’s attention, To hear the cries of a man lost in hell’s embrace, Where torment and isolation became his solace.  All he desired was freedom, a glimpse of light, But even in the sun’s glow, darkness was his sight.  He wept, he wept, and wept, but still, no light appeared, His parents’ marriage made the shadows more feared.  Their actions and ways led him down a darkened trail, He chose to be a playboy, letting his heart derail, But the devil played him, a pawn in their game, He squandered his glory, his destiny in shame.  He strayed far from the path where the light shone bright, Lost in the darkness, forsaking the right.  In this mess, he wandered, until the day he found, The Cleaner of mess, where hope did abound.  He wondered if the Cleaner could erase such weight, But His love surpassed the mess, beyond any fate.  On Calvary’s cross, He bore the cost, He died for me, no longer lost. And now I’m saved, His love so true, Thank you, Jesus, for making me new.
