Even in this dark world and times God is still in the business of making men, whole men.Men who are passionate about the gospel (Titus:2:14) Men who will leave everything(Matt.19:27) to do the work that the father has sent them to do.
Men who will carry their cross daily and follow Christ. Men who are not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, because in it is the power to save all who believe. (Romans 1:16).
The word of God is true whether it’s soothing or not, whether it’s painful or not, it remains true till the end. To be sent as light, we need to be made “Whole”. Whole in the sense that we are free from sin, bondages of the mind and all forms of addictions. Lately, the number of believers struggling with
One addiction or another is alarming and it is ravaging the church.
We have these same people becoming pastors and prophets of large congregation, where the gifts of God are displayed but the life of Christ which is the light of men is not seen. Men keep on struggling with these addictions and it now looks like a normal thing. These same people are being sent as light, as witnesses into the earth, with no solid foundation in Christ who alone can save a man.
We see in the story of the Samaritan woman at the well, who knew the law, obviously read the Torah but when the Messiah came she did not know He was the one speaking.
But with continuous dwelling in God’s presence, as she had that conversation with the Messiah she was delivered from what held her captive all those years and purpose was found.
We have so many Christians who have been called, but the fruits they bear and express shows the absence of the life of Christ (Gal.5:19-21),
and their lives don’t reflect the holiness which is in the father.
The scripture says, “…be ye holy for I am holy…” (1John:3:1-10).
This in itself is a command, but because of disobedience to this command we can not perform as effective witnesses who will be sent as light to the world but rather we become lights covered by a bushel.
This is a clarion call to harken to the voice of the Lord that we would be saved and sent as effective witnesses in this dark world.
