One of the hallmarks of maturity

One of the hallmarks of maturity is the ability to intuitively attend to priorities, and drive an output over time that is commiserate with the input.

A message that has been echoed across the years for me is that at the beginning, pardonable flaws may exist, but with the passing of time and garnering of experience, the once little seeds are expected to become fruitful trees.

Consequently, while seeds are given the opportunity to thrive, any tree that does not bear fruits is cut down. It is that serious!

So, the scriptures will say “Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest, then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field” (Isaiah 32:15 – 16)

What if the wilderness remains in a state of desertion, and the fertile land “refuses” to become a forest? A very evident backlog indeed… Do we consider pleasing God a priority? Does the burden of the Christian faith ever strike you as being the essence of life? Have we grown spiritually? Or has time passed in vain?

Just like we pray for PHOS to grow into a tree, and then a forest, we pray in like manner, that as the judgment draws near, our lives will reflect the many investments the Lord has made to see that we draw closer to him.

God bless you!
