“It is more blessed to give than to receive.” — Acts 20:35

May God richly bless you as you give cheerfully.

STARTING STRONG: OCTOBER EDITION

This month, we explored “Understanding Divine Direction” with Dr Iko Ibanga.

Here are the highlights:

  1. The fact that it doesn’t make sense doesn’t mean that it’s not God. And the fact that you are going through difficulties doesn’t mean that it’s not God’s will.
  2. The two most important ways that God leads us is through His word and prayers.
  3. God can close doors to keep you in His will, and when it is time, God can open doors for you.

Homecoming & Thanksgiving 2025!!

The Homecoming & Thanksgiving Service was one of the memorable highlights of the year, as members gathered in gratitude, fellowship, and shared reflection. The atmosphere of worship, reconnection, and warm interactions reminded us of the beauty of journeying together as one family in service to God.

We sincerely appreciate all members who joined the Homecoming & Thanksgiving Service and contributed to making the gathering a meaningful and uplifting experience.

For those who were unable to attend, or who wish to revisit the moment, the recording available below features the exhortation delivered by Dr. Chuka Anude, shared during the Homecoming & Thanksgiving Service:

IfEHL 2025 (03) – The Pauline Generation

The 11th Cohort of the Institute for Excellence in Healthcare and Leadership (IfEHL) convened at Wholeness House, Gwagwalada, Abuja, bringing together 42 participants and 16 facilitators from across Nigeria. Participants, ranging from fresh graduates to senior clinical leaders, engaged in a robust leadership-focused curriculum aimed at strengthening capacity, sharpening values, and promoting excellence, compassion, and integrity in healthcare delivery.

As a flagship initiative of CMDA Nigeria, IfEHL continues to equip a new generation of healthcare professionals to influence the health sector and society with character-driven leadership. This cohort, aptly named “The Pauline Generation,” stands prepared to contribute meaningfully to the renewal of Nigeria’s healthcare system.

Our 2025 Highlights

“Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings…” (Isaiah 54:2)

2025 was a year of divine expansion for CMDA Nigeria. From the mission fields in rural communities to the wards of our teaching hospitals, we saw God move through the hands of Christian healthcare professionals. We didn’t just treat bodies; we reached souls.

Relive the moments of worship, the impact of our outreaches, and the strength of our fellowship.

This is our 2025 story.

Mission activities thrived throughout the month, with chapters reaching hospitals, prisons, schools, and communities with the message of Christ and acts of compassion.

At OAUTHC, the 500-level class organized a prison outreach where members worshipped, prayed, and shared the gospel with inmates. Eight people gave their lives to Christ, and drugs were also donated to the facility.

Members also conducted hospital evangelism, ministering to patients and sharing welfare materials.

At AAU/ISTH, the 500-level classes led multiple outreaches, including hospital evangelism to the paediatrics ward, a secondary school outreach focused on health education and career talks, and hospital evangelism at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital. Across these missions, several souls were saved and lives touched.

EASTERN ZONE

The month of October was marked by gratitude and growth across the Eastern Zone, as student chapters continued to walk faithfully in the high calling of God upon CMDA.

The month began with a spiritual focus as members united in the ABBA Father prayers, alongside several days of fasting and intercession in different chapters. Highlights included the COOUTH Prayer Department Retreat (7th), AEFUTH School Executive prayers (10th), EBSUTH Intercessory prayers (21st), and ABSUTH’s week-long prayer stretch in the first week of the month.

In obedience to the Great Commission, mission activities remained at the heart of the zone. EBSUTH, IMSUTH, UPTH, and the emerging RSUTH chapter all held impactful rural outreaches and medical missions from 24th–26th October, while other smaller unit-level outreaches also took place across campuses.

Academic excellence thrived as chapters organized capacity-building sessions—COOUTH hosted a Final Year Academic Orientation (7th October)—affirming CMDA’s commitment to producing both spiritually and professionally excellent doctors.

In line with the national focus on the Instruments of Service, several chapters explored The Logo: UNTH (13th), ABSUTH (19th), and GUTH (25th), deepening understanding of the CMDA vision and values.

Regular meetings and retreats also held across the zone: AEFUTH (18th), UNTH (25th), ABSUTH (7th, 14th, 21st, 28th — which also doubled as electoral meetings), and NDUTH (27th). Executive and central executive committees across chapters equally gathered to discern God’s direction for the house as the year draws to a close.

It was also a season of joy as GUTH, UPTH, and AEFUTH celebrated the induction of new doctors into the CMDA fold on the 5th, 12th, and 18th respectively. AEFUTH further hosted a joint doctors and students forum on the 28th, strengthening inter-arm fellowship within the association.

As the electoral season commenced, chapters prayerfully conducted and concluded their leadership transitions for the 2026 service year. Meanwhile, preparations are underway for the Zonal Committee Meeting on November 5th, where leaders will pray, plan, and strategize ahead of the National Council Meeting.

Through it all, the zone remains deeply thankful to God for His sustaining grace, the success of the year’s activities, and the steady growth witnessed in every chapter. Truly, “Blessed be God, our strength and helper, forever and always.”

ENLARGE YOUR TENT

Greetings in Jesus name!

Focus: Nigeria;Good People! Great Nation,

  • Prov. 29.18 – Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. (KJV)
  • Prov. 29.18 – If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed. (MSB)
  • Praise God! CMDA Nigeria operates within the context of Nigeria as a nation. Whatever happens to Nigeria affects us.
  • This is the week for the celebration of Nigeria’s independence from Great Britain!
  • I guess we are familiar with the name ‘Great Britain’. Who called Britain ‘great’? Ever thought of it? I have watched many preachers in the US with different political leanings and I cannot help but admire their sense of patriotism, vision and ownership of their nation.
  • USA is also a nation with great diversity and challenges but they have managed to transform all that into strength as they forged ahead to build a great nation.
  • If Nigeria must be great, we must rise to call her ‘great’, if Nigeria must become a strong influence for God then you and I must arise and build.
  • We must choose to call our nation what we desire rather than what currently prevails. We must learn to call the things that be not as though they were.
  • We need to embrace a national vision for Nigeria to match into greatness. Someone once called Nigeria: Great Nation, Good People! That is a vision we can pray about as we in CMDA Nigeria celebrate Nigeria’s independence this week.
  •  The MSB says in Prov.29.18:
  • _“If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed.”_
  • This Month we want to focus on what God is doing in Nigeria.

PRAYERS

  1. Give thanks to God for Nigeria! It’s 65 years of political independence from Great Britain. Glory be to God!
  2. Let’s thank God for the foundation laid by our founding fathers for one, united nation. Nigeria has been through many crisis situations but the Lord has preserved her through it all.
  3. Praise God for the Church in Nigeria. We are marching on in spite of the challenges we have faced. It’s the mercy of God that has preserved us. Let’s thank God for the vessels He has raised from Nigeria to bless humanity.
  4. Praise God for CMDA Nigeria and yourself! You are a vessel God has chosen to use to bless the nations. Let’s appreciate Him for the success of the Eastern Zonal Conference that just ended yesterday.
  5. Let’s pray that God will reveal with great clarity His vision for us as a nation. That everyone, young and old, may embrace this vision of greatness and run with it in Jesus name!
  6. Let’s pray that God will raise righteous and God fearing leaders for us at various levels and dimensions: Political leaders at national, state and LG levels (executive, judiciary and legislature). Religious leaders, Traditional leaders, Business leaders and other leaders in various Professions, Education, Media, Sports and Entertainment.
  7. Let’s praise God for a new Nigeria: Great Nation, Good People!

Governing Board Committee on Prayer and Welfare, CMDA Nigeria.
