Man is a Tripartite Being: Spirit, Soul, and Body. Man is a spirit that has a soul, living in a body. Let’s discuss each element separately 

The Body: 

The body is the part of man we all see, and for some, that is all there is to man. 

It contains all the senses: sight, smell, touch, audition and taste 

LION 

And so, this tells us that man is inherently a spiritual being. 

Note that the spirit and our flesh are constantly at war with each other, our flesh opposing God’s will and desiring the things of the world, while our spirit desires the things of God 

And so, there is war 

Whoever is strengthened more will rule over 

These senses transmit to our souls and our souls and so, transmit them to the spirit Man. 

At the fall of man, our spirit died, but it also manifested outwardly as our bodies were condemned to die as well 

Man, a once perfect creation, began to fall sick and die 

And so, earning the need for a physician but then 

This physician makes a mistake when he cares for the body of the man alone, because the body is merely a container housing the Person 

The Soul: 

This is the media connecting the spirit and the body together 

It is like a door, a gateway…. 

The soul comprises the Mind, Will and Emotion The soul is where we do all our thinking, where we feel and make decisions 

The Spirit: 

Man is solely a spirit…. 

This is our original identity; it is what scripture refers to as the inner Man 

Our inner man is strengthened to rule over our flesh, our thoughts, our will and emotions This is done by prayers, studying the word and exercising the power and dominion we have in Christ over sin, an actively engaging the Holy Ghost. 

Dear CMDA STUDENT, 

Because Man is inherently a spirit that has a soul living in the body, it is important that we do not lose sight of what is important whilst focusing on the temporary 

Just as the vision states in 1.Thess 5:23, God has called us in the Discipline of medicine to care for the whole man, to offer WHOLISTIC SOLUTION and not just solution on one area. Our Missions are tagged “WHOLENESS MISSIONS” because we are not focused on the body alone, but we treat the spirit and the soul. We treat the Body via medical treatment, but we treat the soul and spirit as well through counselling and reconciling men to God, casting out demons when we need to, helping people build fervency in their walk with God, disciple patients and teaching them the way of the Lord That, Dear CMDA STUDENT is what we have 

Mind you, our human spirit is different from the been called to do this year Holy Spirit which is the spirit of God 

Just as the Holy Spirit dwells in the spirit of a regenerated man, in the same way, Demons and evil spirits can dwell and possess the spirit of the 

unregenerate man….. 

We have been called to be TRIPARTITE SOLUTIONS, and this is a reminder that we don’t lose sight of that… Shalom!
