STUDENTS' ACTIVITIES
EASTERN ZONE
From the rising of the sun to its setting, the Name of the Lord was hallowed, and His glory radiated throughout the Eastern Zone of CMDA Nigeria–Students. June was indeed a month of abundant blessings, where we encountered God’s goodness and graciousness in remarkable ways.
The month commenced with the 2025 Foundation Course of the Institute of Medical Missions (IMM) for the East, held from the final day of May to the 8th of June. This impactful meeting, hosted at a quarry site, was pivotal in equipping Christian medics to effectively represent God in medical missions, using the medical field as a ministry platform. With over 60 students and facilitators from about 11 chapters, God’s faithfulness brought everyone safely to the meeting and back to their destinations. We remain deeply grateful to the host chapter, Abia State University Teaching Hospital (ABSUTH), for being channels of His grace.
Across the zone, the month began with fervent prayers during the ABBA Father prayer meetings. On the 6th of June, we joined the National Financial Day of Prayer and Fasting, lifting up the finances of the House before the Lord, trusting Him to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Chapters followed this with activities emphasizing the importance of financial stewardship in running God’s House. The University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH) observed their Chapter Financial Day on the 5th, while the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) held its second Financial Summit on the 6th. The University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) had theirs on the 24th, and Abia State University Teaching Hospital (ABSUTH) on the 10th and 17th. The Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital (COOUTH) and Gregory University Teaching Hospital (GUTH) organized their financial seminars on the 6th and 28th respectively. Similarly, the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) and Enugu State University Teaching Hospital (ESUTH) held Financial Forums on the 28th and 30th of June.
Staying aligned with God’s mandate, the chapters engaged in Vision-sharing and Logo Exploration sessions. UUTH shared the Vision on the 18th and 19th, while GUTH, COOUTH, UCTH, and UNTH explored the Logo extensively on the 6th, 9th, 18th, and 23rd of June respectively.
Chapters also sought the Lord through various days of prayer and fasting. UCTH held its 2nd quarter prayer night on the 27th, NAUTH observed a prayer stretch on the 29th, and ESUTH had a prayer vigil on the 27th.
In obedience to the Great Commission, UPTH carried out a medical missions and prison outreach on the 21st of June, while UCTH conducted ward evangelism at the General Hospital on the 25th. Morning devotions also continued every Wednesday and Saturday across hostels. NAUTH further organized a health campaign on the 28th of June.
Academically, COOUTH conducted a professional exams simulation on the 13th to equip students for upcoming examinations. Several other chapters also prepared for and wrote their professional exams during the month, as we continued trusting God for outstanding success.
To build holistic Christian medics, ABSUTH hosted an editorial workshop on the 28th, and UNTH organized impactful meetings and workshops on the 14th of June.
Unity was displayed as UCTH doctors and students held a joint retreat on the 29th, following ESUTH’s joint forum on the 9th. It was all joy as NAUTH and COOUTH celebrated the induction of their final year students into the Doctors’ Arm on the 14th of June and later in the month respectively. We trust God for these newly inducted doctors to become arrows in His quiver in the healthcare field.
Throughout the zone, various meetings and retreats of the School Executive Committees and Chapter Central Executive Committees were held to seek God’s direction for the House as we crossed the mid-year mark.
Indeed, these activities highlight God’s faithfulness and intentionality towards His House. . Our prayer remains that men will continually be drawn to Him, that our growth in Christ will be steady and sustained, and that the army He is raising in the Eastern Zone will remain steadfast in fulfilling His commission.
Meetings
At the chapter level, the impact of the conference remained evident through the month of May. The heavens were stirred by the prayers offered from all chapters at various levels. Prayer stretches were held at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH), University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH), and Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH) on the 10th, 12th, 13th, and 25th of the month respectively. Echoes of God’s Word at the conference were heard again in meetings held across the chapters, notably in the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital (COOUTH) on the 5th and 9th of May, and UCTH on the 12th.
An intensive engagement with the Word of God, a vital part of the life of the Christian medic, continued with Bible studies held in Abia State University Teaching Hospital (ABSUTH), Enugu State University Teaching Hospital (ESUTH), and University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH). Logo Exploration sessions were conducted in COOUTH, UNTH, and UPTH on the 16th, 19th, and 24th respectively, reminding members of the significance of the instruments of service and their unique place in caring for the whole man.
To bolster academic excellence—a vital leg of the CMDA Nigeria tripod—forums and seminars were held in UCTH on the 7th, ABSUTH on the 31st, and COOUTH and UNTH on the 24th of May. Tutorials and mock examinations were conducted across chapters to prepare members for their upcoming academic challenges. The EXCEL mentorship scheme was also implemented across the zone. First-year students were welcomed into the fold at ESUTH and UUTH as part of our ongoing efforts to begin early formative processes in future caregivers of the whole man.

Focus: _POWER FOR ENLARGEMENT!
Text: Matthew 28:18-20 KJV
And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and on earth.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
- This is your prophetic season of enlargement!
- God says to enlarge your tent in Isaiah 54:2-3, for there is a breaking forthcoming! However, it takes power to enlarge your tent!
- Jesus says, “All power has been given to me, therefore go and teach all nations”! “All power” includes POWER FOR ENLARGEMENT*
- Power is the ability to cause changes; great or marked ability to do or act; strength; might; force etc. It takes power to go into all the world.
- In order to go you must overcome inertia within and resistance without. It takes power to reach all nations and teach them. By God’s grace we are already reaching our nation and doing some teaching with regards to the gospel and the vision of CMDA.
- We thank God for the CEO and the entire Secretariat team: so many trainings and teaching going on. It takes power to get this done. So much goes into running an organisation such as CMDA. It takes power to get the job done. We praise God for the power He has given us!
- Now the Lord is calling us to enlarge our tents. He is calling us to reach all nations! Go ye therefore, and teach all nations… We need power to reach all nations. We already started in Nigeria, then West Africa, then the rest of African and Middle Eastern regions then the rest of the world!
- It will happen according to the will of God: Acts 1:8 KJV
- “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
- This enlargement is not local but global in scope. Hence the need to establish the global impact fund and Wholeness House phase 2 to enhance our operations. However, the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is the center of it all. Raising witnesses for Christ among doctors is our desire.
- Make no mistake about this: we need the power of God for us to reach others and become profitable to the kingdom of God. So, we must seek more of His power so that we may serve Him better in our nation and in the nations of the world. The LORD be magnified in Jesus name!
PRAYER ITEMS
- Let us praise God for His mercies over CMDA Nigeria, Board of Trustees, Governing Board, Secretariat, all Zonal, State and Chapter leaders, all doctors and all our beloved students in Jesus name.
- Let us thank Him for the power He has given us to play our part in this great house in Nigeria and other parts of the world.
- Let us thank Him for the leadership and the member nations of ICMDA West Africa especially Liberia, our host for the ICMDA West Africa regional conference, 2025.
- Let us pray for the forthcoming ICMDA West Africa regional conference and pre conference missions outreaches in Liberia: that God will manifest His power in the course of planning and execution of these events in Jesus name!
- Let us pray that God will grant us such a revelation of His power in Liberia that souls will be saved and established in the course of the Pre conference missions outreaches and the conference in Jesus name!
- Let us pray for abundant provisions for all our brethren all over the world who desire to be in Liberia for the Pre conference missions outreaches holding from May 21-27 and/or the conference holding from May 29-31, 2025.
- Let us give God thanks for giving us authority to go and teach all nations and for the confirmation of His word in our lives in Jesus name!
