“Confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see” is how the Bible defines faith. It is total reliance and trust in God. A Christian’s walk requires faith. According to Hebrews 11:6, “And without faith, it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Grace saves us through faith. The Bible is filled with tales of religious heroes. To save his family, Noah constructed the ark out of faith. Abraham trusted in God’s promise and obeyed by faith, going to the location where God had called him, even though he didn’t know all the specifics. It is our daily duty as Christians to live by faith. This entails asking for bold answers to our prayers, ac ng in obedience even in the face of blindness, and placing all of our confidence in God. Faith-based living is not always simple. Because of this, we need to keep our focus on Jesus, who is the source and consummate of our faith. The “cloud of witnesses” who demonstrated faith in Hebrews 11 can serve as an inspiration to us. We can be completely confident that God will give us the strength to persevere no matter what challenges we face in life. We have the hope of eternal life and an inheritance that will never fade because of our faith in Christ. Hold fast to God’s promises and practice your faith!
