Institute for Excellence In Healthcare and Leadership (IfEHL)

The second cohort of the Institute for Excellence in Healthcare and Leadership (IfEHL) training for the year 2023 began on September 27th and concluded on October 4th. The students have embarked on a transformative journey, where they are receiving valuable life instructions from dedicated facilitators who are deeply committed to their personal and professional growth. This training program is designed to produce a group of Christian professionals with a fresh perspective, instilling in them the skills and mindset needed to make a meaningful impact on the healthcare sector and the broader world.

The Americas Regional In-person Meeting

October witnessed the gathering of CMDA Nigeria Global Network members at the Americas Regional In-person Meeting. This momentous occasion fostered collaboration, idea exchange, and the strengthening of our global network within the Americas region. Notably, the in-person meeting featured a Food pantry, car wash, and medical outreach, making it a holistic and impactful event.

EASTERN ZONE

CMDA RIVERS

CMDA Rivers chapter met weekly on Fridays for their prayer meetings via Zoom. The chapter came together on the 10th to give thanks to God for the success of the Eastern Zonal Conference “A Light To The Nations” (Acts 13:47), hosted by the chapter in August.

CMDA Rivers chapter compassionate for the spirit, souls and body of the sick in the state went on to evangelize in the Male Surgical ward of Rivers State Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) and both the Orthopedic Male and female wards of the University of Port-Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH). 

The University of Port-Harcourt Teaching Hospital UPTH a sub-chapter of CMDA Rivers State chapter came together for a fellowship themed: “IN HIS STEPS”. The Fellowship took place at the UPTH Senior Staff Canteen on the 21st of the Month. 

CMDA CROSS-RIVER

CMDA Cross-River met regularly to pray virtually on Google Meet. A weekly prayer meeting Titled “CMDA PRAYS”. The chapter held its monthly forum meeting at the CMDA Command Centre, 1 CMDA Avenue UCTH Central Business District in the last week of September. The Meeting featured a very intense Logo Exploration session, exploring the Nigeria Flag chapter of the study book followed by a prayer session to end the meeting. 

CMDA AKWAIBOM

The annual joint fellowship of doctors and students arm of CMDA AKS took place at the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH) Chapel on the 22nd of the month. The event was themed: YOUR MENTAL Health: Depression A Thief of Joy, Time and Resources.  The gathering of the delightful doctors, students and children of the brethren fellowship, facilitated by Dr. Aniebiet Ubaha, and Dr.Eti Ebiekpi had insightful discussions on handling depression and burnout among medical students, and relationship issues as Medical students, a very well-spent time of fellowship for CMDA Akwa Ibom. 

The vibrant chapter of Uyo partnered with Africa Professionals Resource Mission for a one-day free medical outreach at Elder Akpan Udo Esiere’s Compound Ikot Ekpot, Ibiono Ibom Town, on the 30th of September. 

CMDA EBONYI

CMDA Ebonyi chapter held her monthly fellowship, a Joint fellowship with the Clinical Students Arm at the Community Medicine Seminar Room, Ward Complex AEFUTHA 2, in the last week of the month. 

partnered with Missions Aid International for a 4-day outreach to Abakaliki and Ikwo communities respectively from the 8th-12th of August, 2023.

CMDA UMUAHIA

CMDA Umuahia doctors chapter received an invitation from the state’s student chapter to participate in their rural Outreach at Ndi Okorie Abam in Arochukwu L.G.A, Abia State. A call to Volunteer which the doctors adhered to support the students in reaching out to the people of the Ndi Okorie Abam community on the 28th of September. 

 

CMDA ANAMBRA

CMDA Anambra chapter met to explore and encourage themselves in a Logo Exploration Session at the clinical building of the teaching hospital NAUTH, on the 24th of September for their monthly congress. 

 

CMDA ASABA

CMDA Asaba chapter convened at the Paediatrics basement of FMC Asaba for a general house prayer meeting on the 15th of the month. They met two days later for their monthly meeting, during which they listened to teachings on “Living in Financial Dominion”. The meeting also took place at the Paediatrics basement of FMC Asaba a happy ground for the chapter’s meetings. 

CMDA IMO

CMDA IMO chapter held their monthly meeting in the second week of the month at Dr. Udonyang’s house. The meeting facilitated by Dr. Tony Agbara and Dr. P.D.M. Njemanze presented Word Exhortation & Free CME to the brethren in the meeting. 

 

CMDA ENUGU

Enugu state chapter of CMDA Nigeria had a combined doctors and students fellowship at the NOHE Conference Hall, featuring an in-depth exposition of the word of God. Other activities included the secretariat project briefing, sub-chapter reports, updates on the payment of National and state subscriptions, welfare and health week committee reports. 

CMDA Enugu Parklane Doctors and Students sub-chapter also met for a joint fellowship in the 3rd week of the month at the Dietician Hall.  

WESTERN ZONE

CMDA FETHI EKITI

CMDA FETHI Ekiti chapter added colors to their prayer journal with the introduction of ‘When Medic Pray”. 30 minutes (11:00 PM – 11:30 PM) Zoom daily intercession for one another which started on the 1st of September with the end not in sight. The chapter encouraged themselves with two biblical quotes:

“Men ought always to pray and not faint”.

… “The effectual fervent prayer of the righteous makes tremendous power available” …

Very Inspiring FETHI chapter has been to itself and other CMDA chapters. 

The praying chapter of Ido Ekiti went for hospital evangelism at the male surgical ward of FETHI, and then they moved on to close the month with a gathering at the FETHI hospital chapel where they were charged with a word exhortation by Dr. Abolaji Adekeye on the topic: Accessing Supernatural Supplies. September 2023 is a month the chapter will never forget. 

CMDA OWO

Events in the Owo chapter of CMDA Nigeria kicked off in the second half of the month with a prayer and fasting house meeting, where they fellowshipped together and prayed earnestly for their upcoming outreach at the later end of the month. 

A week later the chapter met again for another family meeting at the FMCA chapel and on the 29th the chapter took off for the long-planned medical outreach at the Ido-Ani community, where they reached the spiritual and medical needs of the society and even performed free surgeries. The successful outreach was tagged the historic Ido-Ani.

The chapter gave thanks and glory to God for the great success of the outreach and thanked her members for their prayers, fasting, funds support, and their physical prescience at the outreach. The chapter was excited about playing their part to accomplish the vision of caring for the whole man!   

CMDA FMC ABEOKUTA

FMC Abeokuta Chapter met for her believer’s meeting at the hospital chapel to review the wonderful messages of the western zonal conference themed “THE GREAT PHYSICIAN OUR ROLE MODEL” of the previous month with Dr. Immhonnopi as the meeting speaker. 

The chapter also passionate about the sick went to the hospital (FMCA) female medical ward for hospital evangelism to share the love of Christ and encourage their faith.  

 

CMDA OSHOGBO

CMDA Osogbo chapter met at the Chapel of Hope premises, University of Osun state for their monthly general meeting on the 15th. They received teachings on understanding evangelism from Dr. Babatunde Oderinde on the topic: FISHERS OF MEN from Matt. 4:19. 

 

CMDA ILE-IFE

CMDA Ile Ife held her regular prayer meetings faithfully every Sunday of the month. For their family meeting session of the month with the students in participation, they discussed the topic: “Raising Godly children, what a Christian should know” facilitated by Dr. Seun Esan on the 11th of September, 2023 at the Chapel of Grace, OAUTHC, ILE IFE. 

CMDA LUTH

In September, the LUTH Chapter held weekly prayer meetings via Google Meet and participated in urban missions from Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship International, Bank-Olemoh Elite, Angels of Mercy Medical and Surgical Mission, and RUCOMEF. They also met monthly at the Chapel of Transfiguration, discussing tools for service as CMDA doctors.

CMDA OOUTH SAGAMU 

CMDA Ile Ife held her regular prayer meetings faithfully every Sunday of the month. For their family meeting session of the month with the students in participation, they discussed the topic: “Raising Godly children, what a Christian should know” facilitated by Dr. Seun Esan on the 11th of September, 2023 at the Chapel of Grace, OAUTHC, ILE IFE. 

CMDA LASUTH

CMDA LASUTH Chapter held their monthly family prayer meeting virtually via ZOOM on the 20th of the month. Lifting their voice in one accord to the Lord. 

NOTHERN ZONE

CMDA ABUJA FCT MUNICIPAL

FCT Municipal chapter always delighted for another session of logo Exploration to delve into the study and bring out practical life experiences that encourage and motivate each other on being Christian doctors in all they do. The chapter met at the National Hospital Chapel on the 3rd Sunday of the month to examine the Syringe with a focus on Precaution and integrity facilitated by the chapter chairman Dr. Joseph Edor. Once again it was another awesome time together. 

CMDA FCT GWAGWALADA

The month of September was an eventful one for the FCT Gwagwalada chapter of CMDA Nigeria as they came together to welcome the new Residents and interns joining the fold at Wholeness House upper room. 

CMDA NASARAWA KEFFI

CMDA Nasarawa Keffi chapter remained faithful in meeting online for their weekly prayer meetings. September was a very critical and decisive month for the chapter as they prayerfully concluded their chapter leader elections at the general meeting which was held at FMC Keffi, conference hall on the 14th of September. The meeting featured a wonderful praise worship section, a seminar from Dr. Wisdom Ozegbe on Leadership and the Doctor: The Inseparable Siamese Twins, and the conclusion of the meeting with the election of the new chapter executives. 

CMDA TARABA

Taraba chapter met for their weekly prayers virtually via Google Meet. Early in the month, they celebrated with the outgoing house officers at Derby Classic restaurant, and at the end of the month the 30th, they convened at the chapel hall for their monthly meeting where they delved into the Bible as an instrument of service in the ministry of medicine. 

CMDA KEBBI

September 2023 marked a new dawn for Kebbi state it was inaugurated into CMDA Nigeria a long-awaited moment by the Christian doctors in the state. The Inaugural meeting was graced with the presence of Dr Susan Adayi the current Sokoto chapter chairperson, she spoke to the brethren on the vision of CMDA Nigeria, and she reiterated the fact that caring for the whole man begins with tending to their Spiritual, physical and Mental health as Christian medics. She also encouraged them to watch out for each other’s wellbeing beyond just caring for their patients. 

Dr Susan Adayi, as the Chairperson of the mentoring Chapter (CMDA Sokoto), reminded the newly formed chapter to involve the student arm of the association, which also just started, in their meetings, to strengthen the association and also to improve on publicity.

CMDA GOMBE

Gombe state CMDA brethren assembled at the hospital chapter for a breakfast meeting to review the lessons from the northern zonal conference. A cool time of reflection and deeper understanding for those who attended the conference and a fresh inflow of wisdom for those unable to attend the conference.   

CMDA KOGI

Kogi CMDA brethren gathered at the FTH Chapel Lokoja for their monthly Meeting to receive words from the Father and strengthen the bonds created together as Christian doctors fellowshipping together and indeed the received word from God’s vessel Dr Umoru giving the charge Fervent for the Lord.  

CMDA SOKOTO

Sokoto chapter of CMDA Nigeria met in September for her monthly meeting a hybrid meeting, held virtually on Google Meet and physically at the Hospital Chapel, SON, UDUTH. The theme for the meeting exhortation was “Faithful God”. 

CMDA BIDA

CMDA Bida chapter met virtually in September for their weekly prayer meetings. They had their breakfast meeting at the Praise field Chapel. 

CMDA ZARIA

CMDA Kaduna Zaria chapter met to pray via Google Meet still also thanking God for the success of the Northern zonal conference hosted by the chapter. 

 

CMDA ADAMAWA

CMDA Adamawa for her monthly meeting mobilized her members to meet at the Hospital Chapel, of MAUTH Yola, for general fellowship, a place where brethren’s burdens are lifted, and receive strength and wisdom to navigate the world we live in as Christian doctors. 

CMDA PLATEAU 

CMDA Plateau began the month with a breakfast meeting at Faith and Life Hospital Jos, on the 9th of September, focusing on mission awareness Dr. Lilian Eneh from JINKAI Integrated Health spoke to them at the chapter on Missions, inspiring the chapter on call to missions and all it entails. A lovely time It was as they discussed missions together. 

CMDA Plateau, inspired for missions met for an online prayer meeting via Google Meet to pray and commit the upcoming Mangu joint BHUTH and JUTH missions outreach into the hands of the Lord for provision and protection  

  • Thank You Jesus that the household of CMDA had no cause to sorrow over Max Air accident – Psalm 65:1-2; 22:2-5
  • We appreciate You Lord, for successes recorded so far in the fellowship examinations – Psalm 103:1-2
  • Confess your inadequacies and that of your household before God and ask for forgiveness and the grace to sin no more – 1 John 1:9, Ish 59:2
  • Jesus fulfilled all that was written about Him in the book of life, help CMDA Nigeria to do more exploits and fulfill destiny – Luke 4:17-21, Ish 60:1-end, Gen 12:1-2
  • Pray that the Spirit of supplication will come upon every CMDA member – Luke 18:1, 1 Thess. 5:17
  • We pray for revival once again Lord.
    – Rekindle the fire of evangelism in us.
    – May we recognise our consultation tables as our pulpits.
    – We receive the grace to be more sensitive to the Holy Spirit.
    – We pray for the grace for members to operate in the supernatural as doctors – Matt 28:18-20, Rom 8:14
  • Pray for divine supplies for CMDA Nigeria projects at all levels: chapter, state, zonal and national. We serve a God of abundance and He is not a God of abandoned projects – 2 Cor 9:8, Psalm 37:25
  • We pray for as many members that got disappointed somehow in this fellowship Exam, affliction shall not rise itself again in their life. Comfort them and grant unto them victory in the next attempt. Amen – Nahum 1:9
  • Help nurse Nigeria to health by right leadership and the fear of God in the heart of the populace – Isaiah 49:24-25; 61:1-3
  • We pray against every spirit of discouragement and distractions concerning christian faith. Draw men to yourself Dear Lord – 2 Cor 2:1
