ANNOUNCEMENTS
A Message of Encouragement and Comfort to our Daughters and Sisters of Zion in Medicine
”Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee” (Isaiah 49:15)
Dear Lady Doctors, we are created in God’s image; an image of profound compassion. Because of this, we do not belong to the generation of forgetful mothers. Your commitment is a divine reflection.
We know the scene: a mother is ill, but her child or husband is also suffering. More often than not, the mother recovers while pouring out care for her family. Your focus on others can be so complete, it’s as if you forget your own pain. That is the essence of Christ-like love.
I understand how demanding your life is: the grueling hours, the tough cases, the important exams that loom ahead. Yet, these burdens are not able to stop YOU, for your strength is drawn from a higher source.
The Nurturing of Your Calling…The Bible’s promise that God will never forget you is an assurance, but it is also a call to action. If God’s love is the ultimate commitment, how do you reflect that commitment in your sphere?
What is the “child” that God has entrusted to you to nurture?
A Word of Grace and Wisdom….As mothers, we are wired to give, but to sustain your ministry, remember to be a wise steward of your own vessel. The ultimate caregiver must also be cared for. In the name of compassion, do not forget the need to rest, reflect, and receive.
Will you as a mother forget your sucking child? No. And because of this, God will not forget you.
Graced for The Call…In Christendom, in CMDA, in medicine, your calling is your child. It is the vulnerable patient you advocate for, the student you mentor, the weary colleague you lift up, and the integrity of your practice.
Like begets like: you are God’s. You are called to tend to your ministry with the fierce, unwavering love of a mother.
May you never be found wanting in this sacred stewardship. Amen.
Remain blessed, oh daughter of Zion.
Yours in Christ,
Adeola Afolabi

WESTERN ZONE
October was a month of vibrant ministry and deep impact across the Western Zone, as student chapters carried out diverse missions, evangelism, and fellowship activities. The zone also met to review chapter plans for the year in preparation for the upcoming National Council and Leadership Strategy Meeting.
Mission activities thrived throughout the month, with chapters reaching hospitals, prisons, schools, and communities with the message of Christ and acts of compassion.
At OAUTHC, the 500-level class organized a prison outreach where members worshipped, prayed, and shared the gospel with inmates. Eight people gave their lives to Christ, and drugs were also donated to the facility.
LUTH maintained a consistent outreach rhythm, holding rural and urban missions in partnership with ministries and churches including FruitfulWomb Apostolic Praying Ministry, GMI True Worship Center, and Victoria Island Worship Center. Members also conducted hospital evangelism, ministering to patients and sharing welfare materials.
At AAU/ISTH, the 500-level classes led multiple outreaches, including hospital evangelism to the paediatrics ward, a secondary school outreach focused on health education and career talks, and hospital evangelism at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital. Across these missions, several souls were saved and lives touched.
UITH recorded multiple outreach expressions in partnership with local churches, including rural and urban missions, secondary school outreach, and hospital evangelism. Members ministered through health checks, counselling, and prayers, with many people reached and several conversions recorded.
The UNIMEDTH chapter reached out to pupils in a primary school, teaching them on the theme “My Body is a House of God” and sharing welfare packages. The chapter also held its annual rural outreach at Lipaanu themed “The Fountain of Living Waters,” featuring prayer walks, health education, soap-making training, and medical and welfare support to the community.
At UCH, members engaged in hospital evangelism, sharing encouragement and prayers with patients.
The OOUTH chapter visited Ado community for a medical outreach that included health consultations, gospel sharing, prayers, and gift distribution, reaching over 60 people.
At IUTH, students carried out both hospital and campus evangelism, engaging participants through one-on-one conversations and prayer sessions.

Members reached over 200 people through health talks, counselling, drug dispensation, and evangelism, including visits to an old people’s home where they offered health checks, dental reviews, and gifts.
The UBTH chapter held its annual rural outreach at Amahor Village in Edo State, where nearly a hundred volunteers participated. Over 150 people were reached medically, more than 180 attended the crusade, and 70 souls came to Christ.
Across the Western Zone, the month reflected the passion, resilience, and spiritual fervour of CMDA Nigeria students as they continue to embody Christ’s love through healing, service, and witness. Truly, the Western army is marching strong.
NORTHERN ZONE
In the Northern Zone, CMDA Nigeria Students continue to thrive and grow in consistency under the theme “Rise of An Army”, with regular fellowship, intercession, and spiritual edification.
October offered a season of retreat and refreshment as schools revisited core themes for renewed focus. At GSUTH, teaching sessions on “The Dependent Soldier” were held, while AKTH hosted a Theme Exposition refresher on October 3rd and 19th. ABUTH led an enlightening session titled “School of Apologetics” on October 24th.

Missions awareness programs were also conducted in GSUTH and BDTH on October 12th and 28th, respectively.
EASTERN ZONE
The month of October was marked by gratitude and growth across the Eastern Zone, as student chapters continued to walk faithfully in the high calling of God upon CMDA.
The month began with a spiritual focus as members united in the ABBA Father prayers, alongside several days of fasting and intercession in different chapters. Highlights included the COOUTH Prayer Department Retreat (7th), AEFUTH School Executive prayers (10th), EBSUTH Intercessory prayers (21st), and ABSUTH’s week-long prayer stretch in the first week of the month.
In obedience to the Great Commission, mission activities remained at the heart of the zone. EBSUTH, IMSUTH, UPTH, and the emerging RSUTH chapter all held impactful rural outreaches and medical missions from 24th–26th October, while other smaller unit-level outreaches also took place across campuses.
Academic excellence thrived as chapters organized capacity-building sessions—COOUTH hosted a Final Year Academic Orientation (7th October)—affirming CMDA’s commitment to producing both spiritually and professionally excellent doctors.
In line with the national focus on the Instruments of Service, several chapters explored The Logo: UNTH (13th), ABSUTH (19th), and GUTH (25th), deepening understanding of the CMDA vision and values.
Regular meetings and retreats also held across the zone: AEFUTH (18th), UNTH (25th), ABSUTH (7th, 14th, 21st, 28th — which also doubled as electoral meetings), and NDUTH (27th). Executive and central executive committees across chapters equally gathered to discern God’s direction for the house as the year draws to a close.
It was also a season of joy as GUTH, UPTH, and AEFUTH celebrated the induction of new doctors into the CMDA fold on the 5th, 12th, and 18th respectively. AEFUTH further hosted a joint doctors and students forum on the 28th, strengthening inter-arm fellowship within the association.
As the electoral season commenced, chapters prayerfully conducted and concluded their leadership transitions for the 2026 service year. Meanwhile, preparations are underway for the Zonal Committee Meeting on November 5th, where leaders will pray, plan, and strategize ahead of the National Council Meeting.
Through it all, the zone remains deeply thankful to God for His sustaining grace, the success of the year’s activities, and the steady growth witnessed in every chapter. Truly, “Blessed be God, our strength and helper, forever and always.”
Global Network
The CMDA Nigeria Global Network Americas, Canada, and Caribbeans successfully hosted its 4th annual in-person conference in Dallas, Texas, from Friday, October 10 to Sunday, October 12, 2025.
Members traveled for hours from across the USA and Canada for a time of rich fellowship, spiritual renewal, and a sharpened focus on missions, membership, and mentorship. The gathering of 30 adults, many accompanied by their families, was a truly joyous reunion held in His presence.
Under the theme “iThrive,” various sessions equipped attendees with practical strategies for flourishing in their unique medical marketplaces and professional spaces. The impact was significant, empowering our members to continue playing their parts in accomplishing our collective vision. A dedicated program ensured the children were ministered to separately throughout the day on Saturday.
Our hearts are overjoyed, and we are equipped and ready to thrive!

Greetings in Jesus name!
Focus: Nigeria;Good People! Great Nation,
- Prov. 29.18 – Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. (KJV)
- Prov. 29.18 – If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed. (MSB)
- Praise God! CMDA Nigeria operates within the context of Nigeria as a nation. Whatever happens to Nigeria affects us.
- This is the week for the celebration of Nigeria’s independence from Great Britain!
- I guess we are familiar with the name ‘Great Britain’. Who called Britain ‘great’? Ever thought of it? I have watched many preachers in the US with different political leanings and I cannot help but admire their sense of patriotism, vision and ownership of their nation.
- USA is also a nation with great diversity and challenges but they have managed to transform all that into strength as they forged ahead to build a great nation.
- If Nigeria must be great, we must rise to call her ‘great’, if Nigeria must become a strong influence for God then you and I must arise and build.
- We must choose to call our nation what we desire rather than what currently prevails. We must learn to call the things that be not as though they were.
- We need to embrace a national vision for Nigeria to match into greatness. Someone once called Nigeria: Great Nation, Good People! That is a vision we can pray about as we in CMDA Nigeria celebrate Nigeria’s independence this week.
- The MSB says in Prov.29.18:
- _“If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed.”_
- This Month we want to focus on what God is doing in Nigeria.
PRAYERS
- Give thanks to God for Nigeria! It’s 65 years of political independence from Great Britain. Glory be to God!
- Let’s thank God for the foundation laid by our founding fathers for one, united nation. Nigeria has been through many crisis situations but the Lord has preserved her through it all.
- Praise God for the Church in Nigeria. We are marching on in spite of the challenges we have faced. It’s the mercy of God that has preserved us. Let’s thank God for the vessels He has raised from Nigeria to bless humanity.
- Praise God for CMDA Nigeria and yourself! You are a vessel God has chosen to use to bless the nations. Let’s appreciate Him for the success of the Eastern Zonal Conference that just ended yesterday.
- Let’s pray that God will reveal with great clarity His vision for us as a nation. That everyone, young and old, may embrace this vision of greatness and run with it in Jesus name!
- Let’s pray that God will raise righteous and God fearing leaders for us at various levels and dimensions: Political leaders at national, state and LG levels (executive, judiciary and legislature). Religious leaders, Traditional leaders, Business leaders and other leaders in various Professions, Education, Media, Sports and Entertainment.
- Let’s praise God for a new Nigeria: Great Nation, Good People!
