EASTERN ZONE

CMDA Rivers

The Rivers chapter met faithfully for weekly prayer meetings. Sub-chapters visited their hospital wards for evangelism. At the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH), the team visited the Male Medical Ward. While at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH), members reached out to patients with the gospel of Hope at the Oral and Maxillofacial Wards. The UPTH chapter convened for a prayer meeting at the Senior Staff Canteen on June 28, 2024.

CMDA CROSS River

For their fellowship, the Cross River brethren studied the Logo Exploration with a deep focus on the Syringe. They met to pray online for the chapter’s bi-weekly prayer meetings on the 7th and 21st of June 2024, gathering at the CMDA Command Centre 1 CMDA Avenue UCTH CBD.

CMDA ABIA

The CMDA family (Students and Doctors) in Umuahia enjoyed a wonderful fellowship at their June monthly breakfast meeting at Roots Café. Activities included praise and worship, prayers, testimonies, and a study of the Logo Exploration, focusing on the Towel and Bowl.

CMDA ENUGU

CMDA Enugu brethren gathered for their monthly fellowship at the NOHE Conference Hall. The event featured a seminar on “Land Investment Opportunity” led by experienced land experts. Other activities included a secretariat building briefing, sub-chapter and welfare reports, subscription payment updates, and information on the upcoming 6th Joint Conference. The UNTH sub-chapter held its fellowship for members at the Paediatrics Seminar Conference Room, UNTH Ituku, on the last Friday of June.

CMDA AKWAIBOM

The CMDA family in Akwa Ibom combined their monthly prayer and hospital evangelism. They met for a brief and heartfelt prayer intercession at the UUTH Paediatric Seminar Room before heading to the Gynecology Ward for evangelism. Along with sharing the gospel with patients, they also distributed welfare materials and medical supplies.

CMDA EBONYI

Doctors and students of CMDA Ebonyi had a beautiful time of fellowship, as they do on the last Tuesdays of every month, meeting at the Community Medicine Seminar Room.

CMDA ANAMBRA

“Life Beyond MBBS” was the theme and main focus for the chapter’s joint fellowship at the Clinical Building NAUTH, held on June 30, 2024. This interactive forum addressed final year students and House officers.

CMDA IMO

Chapter members enjoyed a packed fellowship as they listened to Dr. Don Anele speak on the CME set topic: “Prescription Writing.” Dr. Don explained the term prescription, its components, and proper writing methods to avoid confusion. Key points included using good handwriting, leading zeros in decimals (e.g., 0.25mg), and avoiding abbreviations. They were also blessed by God’s message from Dr. Tony Agbara.

In collaboration with FIGO Hospital, the chapter conducted a free medical and surgical outreach at the Umuezealaije Ochi Ogwa, Mbaitoli LGA, on June 20, 2024.

WESTERN ZONE

CMDA FMC ABEOKUTA

CMDA Abeokuta partnered with the Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) for a women’s medical outreach at the Children’s Auditorium TREM, Onikolobo. The outreach offered cervical screening, breast examination, blood pressure checks, and Hepatitis testing. The chapter also held a prayer meeting themed “Ye are my disciples” at the FMC Abeokuta Chapel on June 13, 2024.

CMDA LUTH

In Lagos, CMDA members at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital met online weekly for prayers. The chapter, in collaboration with RCCG Olive Tree Parish, Banana Island, Lagos, organized a medical outreach as an urban mission in the Eti-Osa community. They reached out to over 170 people through vitals checks (including urinalysis, HIV testing, Hepatitis B and C testing), general medical consultations, and medication dispensing. New converts were handed over to the partnering church for follow-up. A significant testimony included the rescue of a cholera patient. Overall, thanks were given to God for the success of the outreach. They also convened to discuss the tools of service in their practice as Christian medics, from the Logo Exploration, for monthly fellowship at the Chapel of Transfiguration on June 26, 2024.

CMDA LAUTECH

CMDA Lautech Doctors and Students gathered for a seminar meeting at the LTH Chapel on June 14th. Dr. Adekunle Adebayo delivered an interactive session on the seminar topic, “Investment opportunity for doctors,” followed by a question-and-answer session sensitizing members on how to gain financial freedom in times like this and explore opportunities around them. They followed up with the chapter’s monthly prayer meeting online via Zoom two days later.

CMDA OYO

The brethren in Oyo met via the chapter’s ZOOM platform for prayer in the first and second weeks of June. In the third week, the chapter gathered at Ishaya Audu Hall, Christ Chapel UCH Ibadan, for fellowship. They received an enlightening message from Dr. Femi Olowookere who spoke on the event’s theme, “PRIME.”

CMDA LASUTH

The CMDA LASUTH family gathered for a handing-over fellowship at the Chapel of Saint Luke the Physician. Members who couldn’t attend in person joined virtually via Zoom. They continued to meet on Zoom as a family for prayer on June 26, 2024.

CMDA OSOGBO

CMDA doctors at UTH had a great time in God’s presence at the chapter’s monthly fellowship. The exhortation topic was “Treasure in Earthen Vessels,” based on scripture 2 Corinthians 4:7. The fellowship was held at the Chapel of Hope UTH on June 21, 2024.

CMDA ASABA

In Asaba, the brethren gathered for fellowship at the FMC Asaba A&E Seminar Room on June 16, 2024. The meeting featured the chapter’s house nomination and election process.

CMDA BENIN

The CMDA doctor’s arm in UBTH accepted an invitation from the student’s arm to join a prayer and fasting meeting themed “Sustaining the Vision” at the Oba Akenzua Top Floor on June 14, 2024.

CMDA SAGAMU

Weekly prayer meetings united the brethren at Sagamu as they lifted their voices in unison, giving thanks and making their requests known to God, at the Children’s Auditorium, Reigning Christ Chapel OOUTH Sagamu.

ILE-IFE

CMDA Ile Ife met regularly for its online prayer meetings. The chapter gathered for its monthly meeting at the Chapel of Grace, OAUTHC, on the 13th of May. Later in the month, the House Officers at the chapter organized a fellowship for the House Officers in the chapter. The meeting’s topic impacted the hearts of the participants on ‘’Work Ethics and Mental Health: Drawing the Line.

CMDA KWARA

The chapter held a virtual meeting via Google Meet in the first week of June for a Logo Exploration Session focusing on “The Syringe” with Prof. O.A Mokuolu as the session speaker. To conclude the month, the Doctors and students assembled for a refreshing time of fellowship themed “Rekindling the Passion for the Medical Profession” with Prof. S.K ERNEST as the speaker. The event took place at the Small Chapel, Chapel of Christ the Healer.

NOTHERN ZONE

CMDA PLATEAU

The brethren (Doctors and Students) at Plateau organized a breakfast meeting and Continuing Medical Education (CME) program for members and other practicing Doctors to promote holistic patient care. The event featured five sessions on the following topics:

  • Management of Hyperglycemic emergencies in children
  • Puerperal Sepsis
  • Bleeding per rectum; Evaluation Protocols
  • Management of vaso-occlusive crisis in a sickle cell disease patient
  • Management of head injury

The speakers for these topics included Dr. Abok Ishaya, Dr. Iornum H Shambe, Dr. Akor Emmanuel, Dr. Alfin Jeneral, and Dr. Wina Felix. The event took place at Faith Alive Hospital on June 8, 2024.

CMDA FCT MUNICIPAL

In the federal capital territory, the CMDA family assembled at the National Hospital Chapel for its monthly fellowship. The core of the meeting focused on the Logo Exploration study on the Stethoscope, discussing its attributes as part of the CMDA logo and its influence on their practice as Christian Medics. The meeting also featured a prayer session for CMDA Nigeria and the Nation.

CMDA TARABA

The CMDA Taraba family gathered online for weekly prayer meetings throughout June. They convened at the FMC Chapel Jalingo for a fellowship with members of the Taraba State Specialist Hospital participating. Key activities at the event included a praise session and a discussion on The Stethoscopes from the Logo Exploration. The discussion focused on creating awareness of CMDA tools of reflection and how they apply to daily lives.

CMDA KEFFI

CMDA Family at FMC Keffi opened its doors to other fellowships of Christian healthcare workers for an inter-professional Harmony meeting during its June 2024 monthly fellowship. The meeting, themed “An Unfading Source of Light and Life,” allowed for a time of sharing and fellowship from all attendees. The meeting took place at the Conference Hall, FMC, on June 6, 2024. In addition to the fellowship, the chapter maintained its weekly prayer schedule, connecting via Google Meet.

CMDA GOMBE

CMDA Gombe brethren had a wonderful time of fellowship at the chapter’s breakfast meeting for the month. The event also marked the handover and commissioning ceremony of the new chapter executives to serve until 2026.

CMDA BIDA

Chapter members gathered for June’s breakfast meeting at the Prasiefield Chapel Bida. Members unable to attend physically joined virtually via Google Meet. The speaker for the fellowship was Dr. Abaya Vincent, who spoke on the event’s topic, “The Medical Doctor and His Home.” Following the fellowship, the chapter continued meeting via ZOOM for its weekly prayer meetings.

CMDA BORNO

CMDA Borno convened its members for its June family meeting at the Hospital Chapel for fellowship on June 16, 2024.

CMDA KANO

CMDA Kano held an online “Maiden Meeting” to discuss the state of the Christian doctors’ fellowship in Kano. The meeting aimed to reorganize and establish regular fellowship meetings going forward.

CMDA SOKOTO

The Sokoto State Chapter gathered its members for fellowship and to welcome new members into the chapter officially. The event was held at the UDUTH Chapel on June 29, 2024.

CMDA KADUNA

In Kaduna, CMDA doctors and students gathered for a lunch fellowship at the CMDA Chapel ABUTH Shika. The lunch meeting was themed “IGNITING YOUR PASSION FOR MISSIONS,” exploring the ministry of the medical practitioner. This session aimed to equip members to win souls at all moments in their medical practice.

“When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble.” – Job 22:29

I want you to know that there is an urgent need for you to fortify yourself in the spirit. That’s the only way to survive this challenging time. It won’t be hard for us in Jesus’ name. Amen

  2. We pray that wisdom be given to every member of CMDA to keep our heads above water in times like these – James 1:5-8
  3. We pray that every member of CMDA lives in peace, a roundabout peace, peace like a river – Phil 4:7, Isaiah 66:12-13
  4. We pray for the opening of a new chapter/level of glory for CMDA Nigeria. We receive grace to break our fallow ground in Jesus’ name – Hab 3:19, Psalm 37:4, Heb 10:12
  5. May the lights in CMDA spread all through the health sector in Nigeria. Help us to be the change instrument like Nehemiah Lord – Ish 60:1-5

6th JnC IMPACT PRAYER Points

  1. We pray for an express flow of the water of Life from the throne of God in this meeting – Revelations 22:1
  2. We pray that the hearts of men be made ready for the Outpouring of His River. We resist the wayside, thorns and rocky heart. We declare that the heart of all participants becomes the good soil – Matthew 13:1-9
  3. We pray for the restoration of the Visions of Men as they come for IMPACT conference. Dead dreams begin to rise again in this conference – Ezekiel 47:7, 9
  4. We decree Healing upon the Physical Health of all the participants at IMPACT. Whatever illness men may come with the Healing Power of God rest upon them in this conference – Ezekiel 47:9
  5. We release CMDA Nigeria and its affiliate CMDA Nigeria Global into a new era of great fruitfulness by virtue of IMPACT conference. Everyone begins to bear fruit wherever they manifest. Massive soul winning becomes our Focus. Everyone begins to release their God given potential into others wherever they are – Ezekiel 47:9-10
